The conflict between new and old underscores most of the story elements in Robot & Frank, the intriguing tale of a robotic personal aide and a retired career criminal.

An Aging Father With Memory Loss

Seventy-year-old Frank (Langella) can't remember things very well anymore. He forgets to clean his house, wash his clothes, and buy fresh milk. He's uncertain how long he and his ex-wife have been divorced, and can't remember that his favorite local restaurant closed years ago. Most shocking of all, the opening scene depicts Frank, a former cat burglar, breaking into a home only to discover that it's his own house.

Clearly this man needs help. However, his son, tour hà giang Hunter (James Marsden), and daughter, Madison (Liv Tyler), have their own lives to lead. The New and the Old

Without moral constraints factored into his programming, the robot agrees to help Frank plan some robberies. After all, these endeavors keep his mind active as he tries to outwit new alarm systems and provide a little exercise for his aging body. Their primary targets are the library and the condescending consultant in charge of technical renovations there.
