I once read a novel named Lost Horizon by British author James Hilton which desribed Shangri-la as a mystical, harmonious valley. As a travel-lover, I traveled many places in China to find such Shangri-la in real life. I once spent several days to hike in the west Sichuan to find the place close to the soul.

The Heaven of Photographers - Xinduqiao

Day 1: Chengdu, Yaan, kynghidongduong.vn Luding, Kangding to Xinduqiao.

Xinduqiao is also called east Russia. Although no landmark view can be found, about 10-kilometer route along 318 Highway is regarded as "Corridor of Photographers". The Tibetan residences are very characterized with spacious white-walled courtyard and red-painted gate. The material for building houses are stone. Standing on Xinduqiao, you can overlook Gongga Mountain.

High City - Litang

Day 2: Yajiang, Tu'er Mountain, Litang, Lạc Sơn Đại Phật Haizi Mountain, Daocheng

Rising over 4,000 meters above sea lever, Litang County is located in the southwest Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. With beautiful view, Litang was once the hometown of Dalai VII, Dalai X and other eminent monks so that Litang is reputed as "Holyland of Snow Land and Pearl of Grassland". On the other hand, visitors should pay attention to altitude stress.

Daocheng County - Yading Natural Reserve

Docheng is also named Daocheng Yading, located in the south of Ganzi Tibet Autonomous Prefecture. It is famous for its unique and primitive natural view and regarded as "the Last Shangri-la". The scenic zone is separated into two part: Daocheng and Yading. What attracts tourists is Daocheng Holy Peak which is comprised of Xiannairi, Yingmaiyong and Xianuoduo peaks. Besides Yading, many places near the downtown of Daocheng worth a visit like quiet rivers, beautiful red grassland and ancient temples.

Day 3: Yading, Daocheng, Litang, Xinduqiao and Kangding

Mugecuo includes such scenic zone as Fangcao Lawn, Seven Color Lake, Azalea Valley, Hot Spring, Wild Man Lake, Red Lake and Black Lake. You can experience the different views in the area in a day.

So, if you want to experience the real natural view without the influence of human being power, you should hike the west Sichuan. Maybe it will be very tired to finish the journey, but it worth your effort.
